Happy Thursday!
Hopefully everybody survived Memorial Day Weekend with at least one good plate of food, a little too much dessert, and enough time around people you actually enjoy being around. And if you managed to sneak in an extra day off work somewhere in there, even better.
Reply to this email and tell us: what’s the one cookout food you absolutely cannot trust people to mess up? Somebody in Chattanooga is defending a terrible potato salad recipe and we need to talk about it.
Let’s get to it.

Local Snapshots
⚔️ Chattanooga’s First Renaissance Faire Is About To Take Over Coolidge Park

This Saturday, Coolidge Park is turning into a full blown medieval village complete with knights, tournaments, fantasy creatures, artisans, live performances, and people who absolutely own at making chainmail part of their personality.
The wildest part is the actual storyline behind it all: the King and Queen are trying to choose the next ruler because their children are apparently too busy making deals with witches, disappearing into the woods with fae creatures, and running off with centaurs to take the throne.
Honestly, this feels less like a festival and more like Chattanooga collectively agreeing to get weird for a day, and we fully support it.
🎣 Tennessee Is Letting Everybody Fish For Free Next Weekend
On June 6, Tennessee residents and visitors can fish for free anywhere in public waters without needing a license, which honestly feels like one of the most wholesome things the state does all year.
Even better, kids 15 and under can fish free for the entire following week, giving families a rare excuse to ditch screens, get outside, and accidentally create one of those core summer memories people talk about forever.
TWRA also stocks thousands of pounds of fish across the state beforehand, so yes, your odds are definitely better than usual.
🎶 Friday Night Concerts Are Returning To Downtown Cleveland
Downtown Cleveland is bringing back one of the best low key summer traditions in the region: free outdoor concerts every Friday night in June.
It kicks off this Friday with the Collins Brothers Band at First Street Square, and honestly, this feels like the kind of thing people say they want more of. Live music, warm evenings, downtown energy, and somewhere to exist that does not involve staring at your phone for three straight hours.

☀️ Weather Snapshot
Thursday 86° / 69° 🌧️ 💧35%
Friday 80° / 69° ☁️ 💧35%
Saturday 77° / 67° 🌧️ 💧75%
Sunday 69° / 63° 🌧️ 💧40%
There’s basically a chance of rain every single day this weekend, so welcome to peak “late spring in Chattanooga” behavior.
Thursday and Friday still look warm and pretty manageable overall, but Saturday especially could get pretty wet, with cooler temperatures rolling in by Sunday.
In other words: keep the plans, just maybe keep an umbrella in the car too.

TOGETHER WITH M.B.D. JANITORIAL
🧼 First Impressions Start Before You Speak
People notice dirty businesses immediately.
The fingerprints on the glass.
The dusty corners.
The restroom nobody checked.
The floors that quietly stopped looking clean weeks ago.
And the hard truth is people connect cleanliness with professionalism whether businesses realize it or not.
A clean space makes customers more comfortable, employees more productive, and your business feel cared for before anybody even says a word.
That’s where M.B.D. Janitorial Services comes in.
From offices and churches to medical buildings, daycare centers, event venues, and government facilities, they help Chattanooga businesses stay consistently clean without the stress of managing it yourself.
Because nobody should lose business over something that could’ve been cleaned.

Friday Wrap
Changing The Way We Think About Mental Health: An inspiring community event focused on breaking stigma around mental health through honest conversations, personal stories, and practical ways to better support ourselves and the people around us.
Silent Disco Sk8 Night: Wireless glowing headphones, roller skating, three music channels, and a full indoor skate party make this one feel like a middle school dream upgraded for all ages.
Friday Night Country Dance Social: Whether you know how to two step or have absolutely no idea what you’re doing, this social dance night brings country music, swing dancing, line dancing, and a very “just get out there” kind of energy.
Highly Suspect And The Tour Of Yellow Roses: Highly Suspect takes over The Signal for a loud, high energy night that leans somewhere between hard rock chaos and emotional spiral in the best possible way.

Saturday Insight
AJ Wilkerson: One of the fastest rising young comedians in the country brings his nervous charm, sharp storytelling, and wildly relatable humor to The Comedy Catch for a night that will probably make your face hurt from laughing.
423 Frequency — A House Music Experience: Barrelhouse Ballroom turns into a full late night dance floor with house music, heavy bass, and the kind of energy where nobody plans on leaving early.
Riverfront Nights: Free live music returns to Ross’s Landing with river views, food vendors, lawn chairs, and one of Chattanooga’s best excuses to spend an entire evening outside.
ZineFest 2026: Chattanooga’s punk, artist, writer, and DIY communities take over the library for a full day of independent art, handmade publications, workshops, and wonderfully weird creative energy.
Bobby Stone Film Series: Yojimbo: One of Akira Kurosawa’s most legendary samurai films hits the Tivoli for a classic big screen experience that still somehow feels cool decades later.
Southeast Gassers Association: Old school drag racing returns to Brainerd Motorsports Park with roaring engines, vintage race cars, and pure 1960s racing chaos.
Full Moon Adventure Series: Once in a Blue Moon: Paddle through the Tennessee River Gorge at sunset and under the full moon during one of the most peaceful outdoor experiences happening all weekend.
Bacon Bash Festival: A full afternoon dedicated to bacon, food trucks, local vendors, and exactly the kind of beautifully unnecessary festival concept the South was built for.

Where To Eat
The Flaming Rooster: Crispy, spicy chicken that is capable of ruining your emotional stability for about ten minutes. The Flaming Rooster absolutely delivers. The Nashville hot chicken has real heat behind it, not the fake “mild suburban spicy” kind, and somehow still keeps a ridiculous amount of flavor and crunch. The sides deserve their own respect too, especially the mac and cheese, greens, and baked beans. Just know this now: whatever spice level you normally order somewhere else, go lower here unless you enjoy suffering.
📍1900 Broad St, Chattanooga, TN 37408

Civil Provisions & Bar: Some restaurants feel expensive just to feel expensive. This is not one of them. The burgers are unreal, the cocktails actually taste balanced instead of sugary, and somehow every plate coming out of the kitchen feels like somebody genuinely cared about making it good. It’s dark, cozy, a little upscale without being weird about it, and the kind of place where dinner accidentally turns into staying for another round. If you’ve been looking for a reliable spot, this is one of the best.

Go do something that future you will be glad you didn’t stay home for. See y’all next week.
